Women in Robotics, Engineering, and Development (WIRED) is a student-led effort to create opportunities for students to participate in hands-on projects and develop leadership skills through project teams. WIRED's objective is to engage students who share the goal of supporting the advancement of women in engineering majors, academic careers, and the workforce while providing opportunities to participate in engineering activities.

WIRED was founded in 2024 as a new student organization at Texas A&M, however prior to this, its teams were operating under a different university entity for almost a decade. While our organization is new, our project teams have been around for many years prior, building, testing and competing with their projects. WIRED is proud to continue to serve students and provide opportunities for excellence.

WIRED is comprised of three different project teams and a development team that students can join.
